Jim Cantrell
President and CEO of Strategic Space Development
Jim Cantrell is an enthusiastic instructor well-known in the field of business development. As founder and president of Strategic Space Development, a highly successful business development consulting firm, Jim brings his expertise from his consulting work to his courses. He will lead you through the maze of how buying decisions are made, where to locate and develop opportunities, how to develop a capture and proposal strategy and how to execute that strategy to maximize your win rates. Jim has served on major government source selection boards and as an aerospace executive. He discusses many of the organizational and management challenges of running new business capture campaigns as well as managing a business development staff. He also provides useful techniques for winning new business and gathering competitive intelligence.

Pat Dougherty
VP of Strategic Planning and DoD Space
Dr. Pat Dougherty is a highly educated and experienced teacher who gained a broad understanding of the customer's needs during his 20-year Air Force career in the acquisition corp. Presently, Dr. Dougherty develops business opportunities and capture strategies for suppliers to DoD and NASA. Dougherty lends his expertise to clients as he guides them through a successful capture process, cultivating proposal strategies and executing them through red teams and delivery. Additionally, Dr. Dougherty has 16 years of business development and management experience in the civilian aerospace industry. While at Ball Aerospace, he was Acting Director for Defense Systems, leading the $64M win on the RAMOS program. He was the Proposal Manager for the Global Precipitation Measurement Microwave Imager Pursuit, Capture Lead on SBSS as well as Capture Lead and PM for SBIRS Low. Dr. Dougherty has served on major government source selection panels. The combination of his extensive real-life training with four college degrees (2 Master Degrees in Management) qualifies him to share the lessons he has learned.

Jerry Krassner
Acting Chief Scientist, OSD and Consultant
Dr. Jerry Krassner has been involved in aerospace R&D for over 30 years. Over this time, he has participated in or led a variety of activities with primary technical focus on sensor systems R&D, and business focus on new concept development and marketing. He has authored over 60 research papers, served on advisory panels for DARPA and the Navy, and was a member of the US Air Force Scientific Advisory Board (for which he was awarded the USAF Civilian Exemplary Service Award). Jerry was a founding member, and past Chairman, of the MASINT Association. Currently, he is a consultant, and acting chief scientist for an office in OSD responsible for identification and assessment of new enabling technologies. Jerry has a PhD in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Rochester. |

Tim Kelly
Project Management Consultant
Tim Kelly, a project management consultant, provides service and training in successful management and completion of projects. Kelly is the winner of many awards including NASA Public Service Medal “In recognition of visionary program leadership”. As a Project Manager he has led development and operations of complex space systems including NASA contracts as HST/NICMOS, Spitzer, JWST, Kepler (which was in excess of $250M). He led the difficult transition of a high tech lab into a true operational center. He has been a department manager as well as a teacher and mentor. Kelly has multi-level experience including: Thermal Analyst, Senior System Engineer, Senior Program Manager, Functional Manager, Product Center Lead, and the Director of Program Managers for Payloads, Spacecraft, and Missions. His inspiration for “Returning to Fundamentals” originated with his work at a large aerospace company and was later refined as he assisted Venture Capitalists with both startup projects and struggling projects. |

Terry Schilling
Senior Consultant, Strategic Space Development
Terry Schilling has over forty years of broad and diverse management experience in the aerospace industry, culminating in 7 years as Vice President of Business Development at Orbital Sciences Corporation. He is well-positioned to lend his expertise and practical knowledge in the field of strategic planning. He has held senior leadership and business development positions with three of the world's largest major aerospace companies. He has an extensive program development background in classified (SCI) space-based remote sensing and ground-based systems applications. With in-depth experience in advanced programs and program pursuit management for large scale NASA/Civil, Defense, National, and Commercial space systems, and subsystems, Mr. Schilling will provide proven techniques in Strategic planning, program capture management, proposal leadership and development, competitive analyses, price to win assessments.

Eligar Sadeh
CEO and President, Astroconsulting International
Eligar Sadeh, Ph.D., is a recognized expert in the areas of space policy and law, space studies, space systems management, and space technology development. Dr. Sadeh serves as CEO and President of Astroconsulting International, which provides consulting solutions, research, and professional education for the military, commercial, and civil space sectors. Sadeh currently holds adjunct professorships with the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, and the American Military University to instruct space related courses. In addition, he instructs professional development courses in space policy and space management for the AIAA and the Academy of Program, Project, and Engineering Leadership in the Office of the Chief Engineer at NASA.Sadeh has held professorships in Space and Defense Studies at University of North Dakota and at the United States Air Force Academy. Prior to these academic positions, Sadeh worked for Lockheed-Martin as a Space Systems Engineer. |
